Delicious southern biscuits after a walk around a beautiful lake.
Describe a better Sunday morning.
I’ll wait.
Rise and Shine Biscuit Kitchen and Cafe is located just a few blocks north of Sloan’s Lake, making it the perfect stop after a run, walk, bike ride, or skate around the lake.
Being from the south, I can totally vouch for these buttery biscuits taking me right back home. Each biscuit is named after a different North Carolina city (which automatically makes me adore this spot because NC is my favorite southern state) and they all look amazing. Better yet, every day they have a new ‘biscuit of the day’ so you can always change up your regular order no matter how many times you come back.
I’m a sucker for fried chicken, so I obviously got the Chapel Hill, which is a tasty chunk of fried chicken on a biscuit of your choice. I added cheddar cheese, Texas Pete hot sauce, and horseradish mayo and got it on the biscuit of the day (a brie biscuit – so good!).

Matthew also got the Chapel Hill (we’re both fried chicken fans, folks), but with egg, havarti cheese, Texas Pete hot sauce, and mayonnaise on a regular biscuit. Also raised in Georgia, he was also very impressed.

These biscuits tasted even better after our stroll around Sloan’s Lake, so I highly recommend planning your morning walk around this meal!
Which biscuit would you get from the Rise & Shine menu?
