For Matthew’s 26th birthday, he wanted to get some Thai food.
We landed on Aloy Modern Thai because we had never been and it’s only a 5-minute walk from our home.
In early November, COVID shut down restaurants halfway in Denver, so they were only allowed to fill up 50% capacity. I reserved a seat ahead of time online to make sure we’d be seated at a reasonable time. In the reservation, I mentioned that we were celebrating a birthday.
When we got to the restaurant at our reservation time, the hostess was so welcoming and wished Matthew a happy birthday. Then, we were immediately seated at 4-person table along the wall, giving us a great vantage point of the entire restaurant, which was beautifully appointed with modern decor, and also super spacious with plenty of room between every table.
Our waiter greeted us immediately, gave us water, and asked for our drink orders.
I got the Adult Thai Iced Tea and Matthew got the Whiskey Sour – both were strong & delicious! Along with the drinks, we decided to order the Crab Rangoons since that’s one of Matthew’s favorite appetizers. Stuffed with crab and cream cheese, those were probably the best crab rangoons I’ve ever had.
We sipped on our drinks, ate our app, and talked a bit before ordering our main dishes. I chose the Panang Curry and Matthew was set on the Drunken Noodles. Not only were both meals beautifully presented, but they were sizeable portions and absolutely delicious. The medium spice level was just right and the temperature of the food was perfect as well. We weren’t even able to finish our meals, but we were secretly happy that we would have leftovers for the next day.
Great service, great ambiance, and great food for a special occasion – Aloy Modern Thai was a 10/10 in my book.
