Now that the year is coming to an end, let’s talk about Taos.
This past March, we went on our final trip before the craziness of COVID-19 hit.
It was a trip we had planned months back with 2 of our adventurous friends whom we love to take road trips with at least once a year.

Two days before our trip, my whole company was ordered to work from home indefinitely.
However, at this point in time, we still didn’t know quite how bad the whole virus was going to be.

As it turns out, this trip to Taos would be our last ski trip of the season; that weekend, every resort in Colorado closed down. We were so lucky to be able to get 2 days of skiing in at Taos, as they ended up declaring that weekend the last they’d be open as well.

It was a strange weekend full of a bunch of different emotions – uncertainty, excitement, confusion, and joy were felt all at once. Aside from the emotions, it was certainly a weekend to remember for many other reasons, starting with our tiny Airbnb just a couple blocks from town.

The fun continued at the ski resort. While it wasn’t the biggest resort, it had some of the steepest, most terrifying runs I’ve ever seen. Plus, we got so lucky with the conditions – truly the most powder we’ve ever skiied.

And of course, we couldn’t go to New Mexico without devouring some of the most delicious, authentic Mexican food while enjoying the laid-back vibes of the eclectic little town.

What a unique gem of a town in New Mexico.
A place I’ll never forget – especially during the strange time we were there.
But, nonetheless, a place I’d love to return to in the future!
